Why miniMAX?
We design and make “kit of parts”, modular and fully prefabricated cabins that are fabricated offsite and assembled onsite on the foundation. Products range from 120-1200sf and are relatively affordable, easy to maintain, with sustainable and modern design features. They are a perfect solution as accommodation units for hospitality establishments; backyard ADUs; as the second, vacation, and starter homes for young families or retirement forever homes.
Our Story
When we started miniMAX in 2020, our initial vision was to provide solutions for urbanites who desire to have small weekend gateways in areas relatively close to NYC. We have chosen prefabrication as our preferred building method in order to cut onsite construction time. The construction industry in our targeted areas, at the time, was not well equipped to efficiently and cost effectively execute small project with high-end level of detailing, due to the lack of manpower. When you add to the project’s price tag the soft cost; architectural design; site improvements; etc., building even tiny weekend getaway becomes exorbitantly costly.
The paradox is that the smaller the house is, the higher is the cost of building it.
Then 2020 happened…
What was initially a modestly ambitious enterprise with niche market appeal, all of a sudden became a widespread obsession and so we had to adapt our designs and strategy to meet the demand.
Our focus is primarily on the North East US markets with proximity to NYC metro area, which includes Hudson Valley, Catskills, Upstate NY, Long Island, and the Berkshires in Massachusetts. Our goal is to fill the market gap by providing newly constructed modern cabins and homes appropriately sized for efficiency, sustainability, and contemporary lifestyle
Fabrication Capabilities
We have fabrication capabilities both in the US and Europe.
In the US our manufacturer is Buildsy Micro Manufacturing based in Ossining, NY. miniMAX and Buildsy are independent companies with shared majority ownership.
In Europe, Buildsy has forged strategic partnership with STECO, reputable panelized system manufacturer.
